If you have never read the book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” by the late Stephen Covey, I highly recommend it. In a sense it’s quite a miraculous work. Mr. Covey was not known to have studied or written about anything related to kabbalah or Jewish studies, yet his ‘7 Habits’ perfectly mirror the seven middot. It’s simply amazing.
This being the second week, the overarching Sefirot is Gevurah, which has to do with concepts such as restriction, form (versus ‘force’) and more disciplined learning. (The counterparts to the expansive emanations of week #1.) We will look at some of the aspects of each of the 7 Habits, how they align with the middot, and tie these back to the seven ushpizin of the first week.
