The line is from the song, “Already Gone” by the band called “The Eagles.” A bit of profound truth in the midst of some pop lyrics.
As the Aish Omer Meditation puts it:
“Hod of Netzach is the humble recognition and acknowledgement that the capacity to endure and prevail comes from the soul that God gave each person. This humility does not compromise the drive of endurance; on the contrary, it intensifies it, because human endurance can go only so far and endure only so much, whereas endurance that comes from the Divine soul is limitless.”
The beginning of the morning ‘Modeh Ani’ prayer reminds us where this endurance comes from:
“I offer thanks to You, living and eternal King, for You have mercifully restored my soul within me; Your faithfulness is great.”
