Gabbai appears briefly in a few scenes. It is his sukkah that Ben Baruch takes.
KEY CHARACTERISTIC(S)
- Gabbai is a ‘simple’ character, who quietly exemplifies Chesed/Mercy. He is also the source of the Sukkah, thus representing the ‘beginning’ of the adventures taking place in it.
KEY SCENES
- “Behind the scenes” he leaves out the sukkah that Ben Baruch (‘Netzach’) then “brings down” into the day-to-day existence. Things ‘start’ with this.
- He does allow himself to feel irritated due to that.
- He extends forgiveness to Moshe when the latter seeks him out. He too is ‘forgiven.’
